The Power Transmission and Power Distribution Divisions serve as a product supplier, solution, and service provider, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of electrical energy from the power plant to the customer.
In the high voltage sector, Siemens has successfully carried out major engineering projects in support of the government’s efforts to electrify major urban centres and rural districts in the country by designing, manufacturing, supplying, and installing over 1000 kilometres of 132 kV transmission lines as well as 10 major 330 kV and 36 major 132 kV substations.
In the medium voltage sector, Siemens has successfully completed turnkey projects for more than 2,000 kilometres of 33kV and 11 kV transmission lines between towns and villages all over the country. Furthermore, Siemens designs, manufactures and supplies switchgear panels, outdoor circuit breakers and distribution transformers, for PHCN but also for many other industrial customers. The Siemens Medium Voltage Department also offers tailor-made solutions for the Oil & Gas industry.
Our Energy Automation Department offers network control systems, protection and substation automation and tele-control systems. Siemens built the Supplementary National Control Centre (SNCC Shiroro) for PHCN and is the market leader for Energy Automation solutions in Nigeria.
Key to the success of the Power Transmission and Distribution business in Nigeria is Siemens' capacity to deliver equipment and components for substations, supervising installation & commissioning, and providing comprehensive services – including strong after sales services and customer support.
